Prof. Dr. Sven Reinecke is the Director for the Institute for Marketing & Customer Insight at the University of St.Gallen since 2015. His research spans strategic marketing, branding, pricing, and the development of marketing performance systems.

Industry Engagement

Best Practice in Marketing Program
For over 25 years, Prof. Reinecke has led the “Best Practice in Marketing” program at University of St.Gallen (HSG), facilitating applied, cross-industry exchange. More than 2 .700 participants from 700+ companies—including UBS, Ricola, and Sika—have taken part. He also contributes institutional insight through board roles at MPM AG, Olma Messen St.Gallen and Stiftung Kinderdorf Pestalozzi.

Teaching & Executive Education

Academic & Executive Teaching Across All Levels
An essential part of his work is designing and delivering high-level executive education programs—both in open-enrollment formats and tailored in-house courses for leading organizations. He also teaches in the globally top-ranked SIM program (Master in Strategy and International Management), consistently ranked No. 1 worldwide by the Financial Times.

Visiting Professorships & Research
Prof. Reinecke has served as a visiting professor at Stanford University (Center for Design Research, spring 2014) and at NOVA School of Business & Economics in Lisbon (Fall 2023). He continues to collaborate on international marketing strategy studies.
